Kansas not merely beat Kansas State, they dominated the hot-playing Wildcats team and their defensive stars. Kansas State's three-freshman trio was not enough to bring back a win in a tough Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas has won 29 straight Big Monday games now and Kansas State has never won in Allen Fieldhouse in the Bruce Weber era. This win was crucial for Kansas in hopes they could take home their 15th consecutive regular-season Big XII title. They came one step closer. Kansas State still maintains first place in the Big XII but just half-a-game above the Red Raiders and one game over KU.
Iowa State had a nightmare of a week and dropped out of the AP Top 25. They dropped Baylor and TCU by a total of seven points. They did win on Tuesday by seven points over Oklahoma. Baylor had a perfect week and gained ground in the Big XII. Kansas and Kansas State did not have perfect weeks. Texas, TCU, and Oklahoma are basically dancing on the bubble. None of the teams had an undefeated week.
Texas Tech came off a dominating win Saturday against Kansas in hopes to carry their momentum to a Big XII title. They should not overlook a team that's playing spoiler, Oklahoma State. Speaking of Oklahoma State, they took home a win during the week, same with struggling West Virginia.
As we head into the final games in the regular season, Kansas, Texas Tech, and Kansas State will all fight for a regular season. TTU and KSU will attempt to knock out Kansas' streak.
